AJAVAS (ISSN: 3083-4619) is an independent and fully open access international journal published by MARCIAS AUSTRALIA, Rosslea, Queensland 4812 (ABN 66 814 341 257). AJAVAS was established on May 1, 2025 under the leadership of Professor Aduli E.O. Malau-Aduli, PhD, FRSN, of The University of Newcastle, Australia, as the Founding Editor-in-Chief and Chair of Editorial Board.
The journal aims to provide an authentic and reliable global reference point for sound science and solidly integrated research outputs in innovative agricultural, veterinary and animal sciences. The target audience includes academics, research scientists, clinicians, postgraduate students, farmers and professionals in the natural and life sciences space.
The scope of AJAVAS encompasses integrated and multidisciplinary scientific innovations in sustainable agricultural food security, natural resources conservation management, ethical livestock production and veterinary healthcare sciences. The scope is streamlined into 4 Sections: Agricultural Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Animal Sciences and PhD Thesis Reviews.
The Article Processing Charge (APC) for an AJAVAS peer-reviewed and accepted article is US$1,500. However, all LinkedIn registered members of AJAVAS who submit their manuscripts from Thursday, May 1, 2025 to Friday, May 1, 2026 will receive a 100% APC Waiver (i.e. they will receive an AJAVAS APC waiver voucher to the value of US$1,500). Only one non-transferable APC voucher per person is valid and to be used not later than Friday, May 1, 2026.

The AJAVAS Editorial Board is still currently receiving researcher expressions of interest from all over the world to serve as Guest Editors of Special Issues on contemporary topics relevant to agricultural, veterinary and animal sciences.
Eligibility Criteria: 1) An earned PhD, 2) Extensive research publication track record, and 3) Ability to attract 5-10 article submissions. AJAVAS integrates agricultural, natural resources conservation, veterinary, and animal sciences research with global practical applications in the ‘real world’. The key focus is on novel, innovative, strategic and applied sciences, multi- and inter-disciplinary research on sustainable agricultural food security, veterinary healthcare and ethical farm animal production systems.
The scope of the journal is streamlined into four major sections, namely Agricultural Sciences, Animal Sciences, Veterinary Sciences and PhD Thesis Reviews comprising integrated, original, novel, practical, multidisciplinary and innovative research on:
• Temperate, tropical, & subtropical food production systems
• Ethical and sustainable farm animal production systems
• Veterinary clinical and pre-clinical sciences
Categories of manuscript submissions: High quality scientific manuscripts submitted as full research, review, case report, and short communication articles that meet AJAVAS quality thresholds of originality, innovation, and international impact will be considered.
• The Agricultural Sciences Section will consider innovative, sound science-based, multidisciplinary, experimental and practical-oriented scientific submissions on temperate, tropical, mediterranean, and subtropical food production systems in the following research fields: Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Systems Modelling, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Engineering, Agroforestry, Climate-smart Agriculture & Climate Change, Crop Science, Sustainable Integrated Crop-Livestock Systems, Natural Resources Conservation Management, Soil Science, Plant Physiology & Molecular Biology.
• The Animal Sciences Section will consider innovative, sound science-based multidisciplinary, experimental, practical, simulated, ethical and sustainable farm animal production research carried out in temperate, tropical, mediterranean, and subtropical food production systems in the following fields: Animal Quantitative Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Genomics and Breeding, Animal Nutrigenomics, Feeds & Feeding Systems, Animal Reproductive Physiology, Animal Welfare, Ethics & Behavioural Science, Animal Science Education & Pedagogy, Fisheries Management, Sustainable Livestock Production and Management, Meat & Dairy Product Quality, Food Processing, Safety and Microbiology.
• The Veterinary Sciences Section will consider innovative, sound science-based multidisciplinary, experimental, practical, preclinical and clinical scientific research carried out in temperate, tropical, mediterranean, and subtropical food production systems in all areas of ethical and sustainable veterinary medicine involving domestic and production farm animals related to: Veterinary Anaesthesia, Surgery & Clinical Practice, Veterinary Anatomy, Radiology & Diagnostic Imaging, Veterinary Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Virology & Immunology, Veterinary Public Health, Epidemiology & Disease Surveillance, Theriogenology, Veterinary Education & Pedagogy.
A section of AJAVAS will be dedicated to PhD Thesis Reviews from Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Postgraduate University Students who are first-named authors. They must provide a written letter confirming their authentic student status signed by all their Supervisors at the point of manuscript submission. Eligible and approved HDR students get a US$500 discount of the Article Processing Charge if their review articles are accepted for publication in AJAVAS after peer review.
